Dogs used in the puppy mill system are used for the sole purpose of making money and are considered just a means for financial gain. They are treated as objects without the consideration of what they need in the way of love and kindness. Dogs are bred over and over again until their puppy bearing years are over and then discarded and sold. They are not treated with the love, compassion, care and kindness that they clearly deserve. Dogs provide love, companionship and therapy to those who will give them a chance to survive and thrive. We are meant to love and protect these faithful and loving creatures, not subject them
to lives of misery, absent of any caring and concern. The entire process of what the puppy mills do to make money this way is both disgusting and shameful.

Dogs who are given a chance to be loved and cared for can contribute so much to our daily lives. They can be trained to work alongside law enforcement agencies providing assistance to their officers in stressful situations. They also give comfort and support to people with physical disabilities and emotional issues.

Working with the C.O.P.E. organization, they also provide companionship and love to children struggling in the school environment. Many dogs are also trained and included in military applications.
Cats and kittens who also find themselves in rescue shelters, deserve to be considered as well.
Give Rescues A Chance.
There is a misconception that all animals in shelters are problem ones. Often, they are the victims of
circumstance. Some are surrendered because their owners are going through some very tough financial
times and are faced with the difficult decision to surrender their pet since there is simply not enough
money to pay bills and look after their families. It can be heartbreaking for everyone concerned. In
some cases, their owners have passed away and there isn't anyone to look after their pet.
That is why anyone considering adopting a dog or cat should consider giving these animals a chance for a
forever home.
Anyone donating to the Food Bank should also consider including pet food. This would be extremely
helpful in allowing the pet to remain with it's family. Information can be found at Simcoe County Pet
Food Banks at various locations.
